About Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro is located in northeastern Tanzania, near the border with Kenya. As one of the Seven Summits (the highest mountains on each continent), it has become an iconic bucket-list adventure for hikers and mountaineers worldwide.

The mountain is actually comprised of three volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Kibo is the tallest and contains the summit, Uhuru Peak. While classified as a dormant volcano, the last major eruption occurred approximately 360,000 years ago.

What makes Kilimanjaro unique is that it's considered a "walk-up" mountain, requiring no technical climbing skills or specialized equipment. However, the high altitude and physical demands make it a serious challenge that requires proper preparation and respect.
