About Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara National Park is nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and covers approximately 330 square kilometers, of which the lake takes up nearly two-thirds. Established in 1960, the park is a biodiversity hotspot offering contrasting landscapes in a relatively small area.

The park is particularly known for its groundwater forest, large troops of baboons, and dramatic escarpment views. Its varied habitats make it a haven for wildlife and birdlife.
